Biofilm Studies
Laboratory studies were conducted to better understand the formation and behavior of Streptococcus mutans biofilm under controlled conditions. These experiments helped establish methods for evaluating biofilm formation and provided a foundation for further product-development studies.
Recombinant Protein Research
Our research program included the development, production, and purification of recombinant PAC-related protein.
Laboratory techniques such as SDS-PAGE and Bradford testing were used during the purification and evaluation process.
Formulation Development
A major part of the project has focused on developing and refining a gel-based formulation suitable for oral-care applications. Different formulation conditions were investigated to improve consistency, maintain the desired physical structure, and support the incorporation of key components.
Physicochemical Evaluation
The formulation was evaluated and optimized through repeated laboratory testing. Physical characteristics, including gel structure and pH, were examined during development. A stable gel structure with a pH of approximately 6.4 was achieved after multiple adjustments.
Release Studies
The research program also included laboratory evaluation of recombinant protein release from the gel formulation. Release behavior was studied over a period of up to 72 hours using dialysis and UV spectrophotometric analysis as part of the formulation-development process.
